Ukraine—Turkish Shipyard Lays Keel For New Corvette

The keel has been laid for the first of four corvettes ordered by Ukraine from Turkey, reports Naval News. During a Wednesday ceremony, RMK Marine Shipyard in Istanbul laid the keel for the first Ukrainian Heybeliada-class corvette. Ukraine ordered the ships in October 2020. Construction of the first began in April, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
