Ukraine—Turkish Shipyard Lays Keel For New Corvette

The keel has been laid for the first of four corvettes ordered by Ukraine from Turkey, reports Naval News.
During a Wednesday ceremony, RMK Marine Shipyard in Istanbul laid the keel for the first Ukrainian Heybeliada-class corvette.
Ukraine ordered the ships in October 2020. Construction of the first began in April, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
The first is being built in Turkey, with the remainder to be constructed at the OKEAN Shipyard in Mykolaiv, Ukraine.
