Bersatu
Bersatu was founded on Aug. 31, 1989, though it did not adopt its current designation until 1991. Bersatu received most of its support from the Muslim Malay population in southern Thailand -- specifically the provinces of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and southern Songkhla.
