Jamaat al-Muslimeen
The Jamaat al-Muslimeen was founded by Yasin Abu Bakr, formerly Lenox Philip. The group is comprised mostly of black African converts to Sunni Islam. Abu Bakr is a former police officer and Afro-Trinidadian Muslim convert. He has been involved in Trinidadian politics since the mid-1980s.
