Kahane Chai/Kach
Israeli-American Rabbi Meir Kahane, born Martin David Kahane, founded the Kach (Hebrew for "Only Thus") movement in the late 1960s in Israel. The movement is the descendent of the New York-based Jewish Defense League, which Kahane founded in 1968 as a response to racial tensions between Jewish teachers' union members and black residents.
