The Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) is part of the terminal defense segment (TDS) of the Missile Defense Agency's Ballistic Missile Defense System. It is a joint project of the United States, Germany and Italy. In the BMDS, MEADS uses the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) missile in combination with airborne and ground-based radars to provide forward-deployed assets with a defense against short- and medium-range theater ballistic missiles...
