OVERVIEW Much of the Turkmen air force remains in poor condition with reduced training for crew and limited spares for an increasingly aging fleet. Some modernization has been taking place, however. Exercises in 2013, dubbed Galkan, included Su-25 and MiG-29 aircraft. The government said the drills included "state- of-the-art" equipment.
