Madagascar Navy Nations // Africa



OVERVIEW The Madagascar navy is again a separate component of the military following the breakup of the joint aeronaval force. The navy is primarily a coastal patrol force with little blue-water capability. Maritime air support is assigned to the air force.   PERSONNEL STRENGTH The total active manpower of the navy is 500 personnel, including a 100-man company of naval infantry (marines).
