El Salvador Navy
OVERVIEW The Salvadoran navy was built up significantly with U.S. assistance between 1987 and the end of the civil war in 1992. It has since decreased in size. The navy also commands a special operations naval infantry company of about 90 personnel. The marine company is administratively under the control of the army.
